Template Designer

Overview​

The Template Designer is a powerful visual editor for creating document templates. Drag and drop components, configure properties, and preview your design in real-time.

Interface Layout​

  • Left Sidebar - Component Library with draggable components
  • Center Canvas - Visual editing area showing your template
  • Right Sidebar - Properties Panel, Layers, and Variables tabs

Components​

Text & Content​

  • Text - Static or dynamic text content
  • Heading - Section headers (H1-H6)
  • Rich Text - Formatted text with styles

Media​

  • Image - Static or dynamic images
  • QR Code - Generate QR codes from data
  • Barcode - Generate various barcode formats

Layout​

  • Container - Group and style components
  • Columns - Multi-column layouts
  • Spacer - Add vertical spacing
  • Divider - Horizontal separator lines

Data​

  • Table - Display tabular data with headers
  • Chart - Visualize data (bar, line, pie, etc.)

Logic​

  • Loop - Repeat components for array data
  • Conditional - Show/hide based on conditions

Variables​

Use {{variableName}} syntax to insert dynamic data:

  • Define variables in the Variables tab
  • Reference them in any text or property field
  • Use dot notation for nested data: {{customer.name}}

Tips​

  • Use the Layers tab to navigate complex templates
  • Preview regularly to check your design
  • Save often with Ctrl+S
  • Use keyboard shortcuts for faster editing
