Notifications

Stay informed about your document generation activity, template updates, and system alerts with the notification center.

Overview​

The Notifications page provides a centralized view of all important events in your RenderDoc account. Track document generation status, monitor API usage, and receive system announcements.

Access: Click the bell icon in the header or navigate to Notifications from the sidebar.

Notification Types​

RenderDoc sends notifications for various events:

Document Events​

  • Document Generated - Confirmation when documents are completed
  • Document Failed - Generation failures with error details
  • Batch Completed - When a batch job finishes processing

Template Events​

  • Template Created - When you create a new template
  • Template Shared - When a team member shares a template with you

System Events​

  • API Quota Warning - When approaching monthly limits
  • System Announcement - Platform updates and maintenance notices

Priority Levels​

Notifications are categorized by urgency:

Critical notifications (like credit exhaustion or generation failures) are highlighted and appear first.

Filtering Notifications​

Use filters to find specific notifications:

Status Filter​

  • All - Show all notifications
  • Unread - Only unread notifications
  • Read - Only read notifications

Type Filter​

Filter by notification type (document events, template events, system).

Priority Filter​

Filter by priority level (low, normal, high, critical).

Managing Notifications​

Mark as Read​

  • Single: Click the checkmark icon on any notification
  • All: Click Mark All as Read in the actions bar

Delete Notifications​

  • Single: Click the trash icon on any notification
  • All Read: Click Delete All Read to bulk remove

View Details​

Click any notification to:

  • Mark it as read automatically
  • Navigate to related content (if applicable)

Notification Stats​

The stats bar at the top shows:

  • Total - Total notification count
  • Unread - Number of unread notifications

Pagination​

Notifications are displayed 20 per page. Use the pagination controls at the bottom to navigate through older notifications.

Best Practices​

Monitor Critical Alerts​

  • Check notifications regularly for generation failures
  • Set up webhook subscriptions for real-time alerts
  • Address failed jobs promptly to maintain workflow

Manage Notification Volume​

  • Use filters to focus on what matters
  • Regularly delete read notifications
  • Consider webhooks for high-volume monitoring

API Quota Warnings​

When you receive a quota warning:

  1. Check your current usage in Settings → Billing
  2. Review recent API activity
  3. Consider purchasing more credits if approaching limits
